1. Language-Focused Minilesson/Microlesson- Step 2
    • I think I will do a minilesson on the analysis of certain language. I think that the interpretation of the information we read has just as must to do with how we use language and should be addresses so to help students to gain a better understanding of the language they use everyday.
    • I think a we could start off with reading a passage of text that is informational in nature and then, as a class, I will ask them what they learned from the text and what they did to decipher that information.
    • I would point out how to find and analyze explicit messages, inferred messages, figurative language.
    • Some objective would be:
      • SWBAT: extract "key points" from a given text.
      • SWBAT: Identify figurative language
      • SWBAT: Make inferences from the text.
